DON’T ADDRESS A LARGE GROUP:

Articles that address a large random number of people are never attractive. Write as if you are writing to a single person, this makes it less formal and more personalized. The reader feels like the article is meant for him/her.

Space out:

Cluttering spoils the purpose of the article. No matter how informative it is, long paragraphs and extra long sentences are a turn off. Space your article well such that a reader can skim through the article and get the gist of it.

Spell check:

It is atrocious to have spelling errors in writing, more specifically in professional writing! Double check your article before you can call it ready for publishing. Some words might be might be omitted or something like “there” is used instead of “their”. Watch out for errors of this kind. Spell checker cannot track all of them.

Seek feedback:

Get a bunch of people to read your articles and seek their feedback. Do not take criticism to heart. Work on them and develop your writing skills. Read extensively and find new things to write about.

Experiment:

Initially, you tend to restrict yourself to particular topics or styles simply because you feel like you can do only those. Try your hands on different types of articles, the more you try, the greater your comfort level will be soon.

File unfinished articles:

There are times when you start writing and don’t feel like finishing it. File them up for completing later on. In a different frame of mind, you will be able to finish the same article where you were struggling to write a while ago.

Affiliates publishing:

Let your affiliates publish your articles with their affiliate URLs in your resource box. This is an effective way to increase your sales and help your affiliates promote your business to their visitors or subscribers more easily.

Compile your articles in an e-book:

You could use your e-book as a bonus for people who subscribe to your ezines. Let people brand your ebook with a link to their site or business. This will increase your popularity as well.

Participate in article swaps:

Your swaps will place your articles in ezines that attracts a large number of people who could be interested in articles in the topic in which you write. This will also help you gain more reciprocal links.

Create a list that announces as and when you write a new article:

Your articles will keep people abreast with all that you write. You can use your list to attract more affiliates and update the existing ones with the latest that they can use to promote your business.
